Update - 15th December
I'd like to thank the many people I've met on the doorstep who like the positive campaign. Your issues, your interests, our community. Many have said how good it is to see fresh ideas such as how I would work towards improving the rural broadband. I've a proven record at delivering for the community and working together we can acheive this.
I have enjoyed listening to your concerns and ideas. From growing up and living in a village I feel you get a great insight to life by meeting people younger and older than yourself. It offers a great start in life and I have always respected that.
I am pleased we have kept the postive campaign focussing on your issues, rural issues. I grew up in the area and I feel villages are at their best when the community work together.
I care about our villiages and I want to ensure their identity and interests are protected and promoted at the highest level. By working with you, the community and Parish Councils, I can represent those views and be a strong voice for the Ward and your interests.
I also promise to be available and visible to the community at all times not just at elections. Something many people have said they welcome when I've met them on the doorstep.
Leigh Higgins: Passionate about Rural Communities... it matters to me!
After listening to many of you I hear that the bus service arrivesat irregular times discouraging you to use it. I have passed this on to the our County Councillor, Joe Orson, we are looking at ways to keep a regular service that is vital for these villages.
A very important issue - I will support the residents right to walk the lakes. This is important to the community and the Conservatives support this.
I believe working as a strong team with our Conservative County Council we can ensure this is returned when gravel is exhausted to open countryside for all to enjoy.
